I am originally from Buffalo, NY and have now spent more than half of my
life living in a much warmer place! After leaving Buffalo, I spent time
living in Roanoke, VA; Columbia, SC; Sumter, SC; Culpeper, VA; and, finally,
sunny Sarasota, FL! Our family has been living here for over 16 years. I
have three children ~ Megan, who is married to Simon, Bryan, who is in the
Army and stationed in North Carolina, and, Christopher, who is in the 11th
grade at Sarasota High. I also have two grandaughters, Ashlynn, who is 4
years old, and Emma, who is 3 months old!
I graduated from SUNY College at Buffalo and received my BS in Elementary
Education. In 1999 I earned my Master's degree in Curriculum and
Interdisciplinary Studies from National Louis University.
The computer lab consists of thirty BRAND NEW Windows student workstations, a
teacher workstation, a mini broadcast studio, and a Promethean whiteboard.
Lessons and demonstrations are projected from the teacher station to an
overhead projection system and taught at the interactive whiteboard. Students
in grades K-5 visit the computer lab once every seven days for a 55 minute
session. Students learn basic technology skills in the lab while working on
projects that integrate technology into different academic areas.
The mission of Ashton Elementary is to help all students become productive
citizens and learn each and everyday!
