unpack and organize...
Morning announcements; Student duties:
Pledge, Attendance, Lunch count,
Morning Board Work, Check of Reading Log
8:15-9:45 Reading Block: Independent and Group Reading,
FCAT Reading Skills, Novels, Fluency, Poetry,
Storyworks magazine, Comprehension, Response Journals,
Vocabulary, Analogies, Spelling
9:45-11:00 Math: Sunshine Math, Drops in the Bucket,
Problem of the Day, Math Mysteries,
Word Problems, Dyna-Math magazine,
Challenge Math, FCAT Math.
11:00-11:30 Lunch
11:35-11:55 Recess/Additional PE
12:00-12:55 Specials Classes: PE Days 1,3 & 5 Tech Day 2,
Science Day 4, Art Day 6, Music Day 7.
1:00- 1:50 Science or Social Studies themes using magazines,
themed books, study packets and texts.
1:50-2:35 Writing: Cursive, FCAT expository and narrative,
The Writing Process, Writing projects
and Publishing.
Successmaker Lab and Library times; see below
2:35-2:40 Homeroom / Announcements / Pack-up
2:40 Dismissal for walkers, car riders in BACK area.
Dismissal for bus riders....
Students will need to walk around the front bus
loop with their class in order to board the buses.
SRC Results: Dogtags/Stars/Bookbug Club
Treasure Chest awards & recognition on Tuesday.
Success Maker Lab 1:45-2:15
(Math and Reading)on Wednesday and Friday.
Book exchange in library each Thursday at 9:15-9:45.
Any day exchange in our class library.
Students are allowed to bring a SMALL
PORTION of a personal healthy snack such as a fruit,
protein, vegetable or dairy item for a morning
and/or afternoon WORKING snack if they choose
to. Please save items that need a spoon for lunch
or for after school, please. (No nuts, chips,
cookies, chocolate, candy, colored drinks
or soda. Basically... no items with extra sugar
or caffeine that could prevent them from doing their
very best work :) Be aware that we have a peanut and
peanut/tree nut and egg allergy in the classroom to
be careful of. Please check the ingredients and
information on bagged and boxed items please.
