12/14/09 - READ Chapter 6-2 The Cell Cycle and complete all the notes for 
this section in your Biology notebook using split page format.  Refer to the 
handout given to you in class today to complete this assignment and don't 
forget to draw the cell cycle diagram and checkpoints.  Finish cutting and 
pasting your "chromosomal mutations" into your Biology notebook on a left 
sided page.

12/12/09 - Saturday Morning - Join me and Mr. Gammon for an "Adopt a Highway" 
clean-up effort.  Meet at the Office Depot in Peppertree Plaza at 6:45AM 
located on Sample Road and State Road 441.  Bring 2 large trash bags and wear 
sneakers.  NO OPEN SHOES OR FLIP FLOPS!  Service hours will be awarded. This 
event will end before 8:30AM so it will not take long.  Help clean up our 
environment!

12/11/09 - Read Chapter 6-2 The Cell Cycle.  Make-up tests and quizzes will 
be given next week for all students who have missed them due to absences.  
Please check Pinnacle to see what tests and quizzes you have missed and study 
for them over the weekend.  They will be marked with an "X" in the gradebook.

Affect Development".  

12/7/09 - Honors Students - You should now be working on your "hands-on" 
Biology Honors Project.  Remember all projects will be presented to the class 
via a powerpoint presentation or I-movie.  Your powerpoint presentation 
should include the research you did on your topic as well as, pictures and 
documents from your project.  Honors projects must be completed over winter 
break and are due on Tuesday, January 5, 2010.  A printed copy of your 
powerpoint presentation must be turned in on this day and you must be ready 
to present.

11/19/09 - Complete all work for Chapter 5-2 Photosynthesis.  Make sure you 
have drawn and labeled the Calvin Cycle in your Biology notebook.  The Calvin 
Cycle is in your Biology textbook on page 102. 

11/16/09 - READ Chapter 5-2 Photosynthesis and complete the Directed Reading 
Worksheet for this section. Grade sheets handed out today to students with 
their current grade in Biology so far this term. 

11/12/09 - Complete all questions and answers from the handout on Chapter 5-
2 Photosynthesis - Stage 1 in your Biology notebook.  These questions and 
answers are your notes and should be in split page form.  If you lost the 
handout, it is on the "handouts" page of teacherweb.  Make sure the 
drawings from question #8 and #14 are done on a left-sided page and colored 
in.

11/9/09 - Honors Students Only - Please write a paragraph explaining to me 
what you are going to do for your "hands-on" Honors Project this 9 weeks.  
Please give specific details on this project and remember to visit Ms. 
Rohrbach's media center page labeled "Think Globally, Act Locally" for many 
different ideas and website you can use.  This is due on Thursday, 11/12/09.  

11/9/09 - Draw the diagram on page 94 in your Biology textbook labeled "Flow 
of Energy" into your Biology notebook on a left sided page. If you don't like 
that drawing, you may make your own as long as you label how energy flows in 
living systems - sun - autotrophs - heterotrophs.  Study for QUIZ tomorrow on 
this section.  

11/6/09 - Finish taking notes on pages 95&96 from your Biology textbook into 
your Biology notebook.  Notes are on transfer of energy to ATP and the 
characteristics of ATP.  Please use split page format. 

11/5/09 - CHAPTER 4 TEST - Cells and Their Environment. 

11/4/09 - Study for Chapter 4 TEST tomorrow which includes both sections 4-1 
and 4-2. 

11/4/09 - Quiz on Chapter 4-2 Active Transport

11/3/09 - Complete the Directed Reading Worksheet for Chapter 4-2 Active 
Transport and the Vocabulary Worksheet for Chapter 4.  Study for QUIZ

today on Chapter 4-2 Active Transport.  Using the split page format, answer 
all these questions in your Biology notebook on a right-sided page.  These

your notes. 

10/15/09 - READ Chapter 3-3 Cell Organelles.  This is the last section of 
Chapter 3 and the last material to be covered before the Chapter 3 test next  
Tuesday and the Biology Midterm next week.  

10/15/09 - Biology Notebooks Due Today! MIDTERM EXAM EXEMPTION FORMS DUE 
TODAY BY PERIOD 1 - NO EXTENSIONS!

10/14/09 - QUIZ ON CHAPTER 3-1 - Looking at Cells.  Finish the Venn Diagram 
in your Biology Notebook titled "Comparing Prokaryotes and Eukaryotes".  List 
at least 5 characteristics for each type of cell and 5 common characteristics 
between them.  This diagram should be drawn on a left-sided page.  Use your 
Biology textbook for help if needed.  

10/13/09 - READ Chapter 3-2 Cell Features.  Complete the Directed Reading 
Worksheet for Chapter 3-1 if not done already.  Study for QUIZ tomorrow on 
Chapter 3-1 Looking at Cells.  

10/12/09 - Complete the Microscope Worksheet given out in class.  Cut and 
paste this worksheet into your Biology Notebook on a left sided page.  These 
are part of your Chapter 3-1 notes. Remember that Biology Notebooks will be 
collected for a grade on Thursday, this week, 10/15/09.

10/9/09 - READ Chapter 3-1 Looking at Cells.  Draw the Metric Table on page 
50 in your Biology Textbook into your Biology Notebook on a left sided page 
and label "Metric Table".  Over the weekend, review the Biology Notebook 
Rubric I gave you detailing the requirements that will be used for grading 
your notebook.  Biology notebooks are due on Thursday, October 15, 2009.  The 
rubric has also been uploaded on the "handouts" page.

9/25/09 - All Students - Please READ Chapter 2-3 Chemistry of Cells.  Use 
this long weekend to catch up with your notebook if you are behind.  Remember 
that summaries are written after each section of notes is completed and page 
numbers should be written on all pages.  Update your table of contents.  

Honors Students Only - Complete notes on 2 research articles from the 
approved databases.  Write out the rough draft for your research paper using 
the form provided to you in class.  I will check notes and rough drafts on 
Wednesday, 9/30/09.  Remember that completed Honors Research Papers are due 
on 10/8/09.  

9/22/09 - Interim Report Cards issued today. 

9/21/09 - Complete all the questions and answers on the blue worksheet handed 
out to you in class today.  These notes should be in split page form in your

environmental research paper.  Write down your topic on a piece of notebook 
paper and give to me by Friday this week.  Also, please review the rough

be working on finding a second article about your topic and taking notes on
