New vocabulary words. These are the last set of vocabulary words for the
year. We completed an in-class activity to review the vocab words. If you
have an excused absence, you are excused from this activity.
Thursday, May 14:
New vocabulary words. Please get these words from a companero de clase.
Homework: choose one vocabulary word from our new vocabulary and create a
bumber sticker. It should have drawings, be in color, and use the vocabulary
phrase in Spanish at least one time.

Vocabulary quiz. Please make up your quiz Thursday or Friday after school in
room 224. Make sure you get the new vocabulary words from a companero.
Homework: using magazine pictures, make a collage. You should have one
picture per vocabulary word. Make sure you write the vocabulary word above

story about your tener phrases. Answer all the questions on the back of the

words. See me for a cartoon worksheet. Create a cartoon in Spanish about
any appropriate topic that you would like. Please write the dialogue bubbles
in Spanish and include a minimum of 4 different tener phrases. Finally, fill
in the next 6 pictures in your "tener phrases" green worksheet.

New vocabulary words. Please see a companero for the list of vocabulary
words. Finally, see me for a green worksheet on the "tener phases". Fill in
the first six boxes with the vocabulary word in Spanish and a drawing to
represent the word.

Test on estar, ser, and emotion vocabulary. Please make up your test after

Read pages 384-385 in your textbook about Puerto Rico. Translate the

385 in English.

Test on possessive adjectives. If you had an excused absence, please make up
your test Wednesday or Thursday after school in room 224. If you can not
stay after school, please see me for an alternate time.

Your test on the possessive adjectives has been moved to TOMORROW. Homework:
1) Study your possessive adjectives. 2) Write 6 sentences in Spanish using 6
different possessive adjectives or different forms of possessive adjectives
to be turned in.

We took notes on the 4 forms of nuestro and vuestro. These are: nuestro,
nuestra, nuestros, nuestras AND vuestro, vuestros, vuestra, vuestra.
Remember that words that end in a "o" change for gender AND number in
Spanish. No homework.

Please create a family tree for one side of your family. It should include
your grandparents, uncles and aunts, cousins, parents, and brothers and
sisters. For each person, please draw a simple picture of their face and
then label the drawing with their name and relationship to you (abuelo,
primo, hermano, ect.) Make sure to turn in your family tree colored!
Friday, April 17:
Please create a drawing that show 4 different "hats" you wear in your
family. Are you a daughter, a brother, a grandchild, a cousin? Choose 4
different people that you represent in your family and write two sentences in
Spanish describing your position. For example: Yo soy una hermana. Mis
hermanos son Cathy y Roberto.
Thursday, April 16:
Please see me for a family tree worksheet. Please translate the first
section titled "La familia de los Hernandez" from Spanish to English. Then,
answer questions 1-10 in full sentences. Finally, complete activity 5 on
page 161. Your vocabulary quiz has been posponed until NEXT WEDNESDAY.

We reviewed more new vocabulary and practiced using the verb "tener". The
conjugations of this verb are: tengo, tienes, tiene, tenemos, tenéis, and
tienen. Please add these conjugations to your verb chart. Finally, create
a
dialogue with a companero de clase asking each other which classes you
take.
Each person needs to talk 4 times (not including words like hola, adios,
ect.)
Monday, March 2:
New vocabulary. This Friday will be your last vocabulary quiz of the
quarter. The vocabulary words are: las materias, las matemáticas, el arte
la
biología, and la educación física. Please make a flashcard for each vocab
word with the Spanish word on one side and a picture to represent the word
on
the other.
Friday, February 28:
Please read all the Nota Cultural section in chapter 4 of your book. They
are located on pages 122, 123, 128, 134, 138, 140. Write a one sentence
summary in English for each page. Afterwards, we looked at pictures of
Costa
Rica and compared what the countryside looks like with the city of San Jose.
Thursday, February 26:
We began chapter 4 by reading about Costa Rica on pages 114-117. We watched
a movie on Costa Rica. Please write the main ideas about the pictures on
pages 114-117 in the cultural section of your notebook.

following ideas: 1) Your characters have just met in Buenos Aires and have
not seen each other in a long time 2) They go around the city exploring
different places (such as exchanging money, going to a supermarket, ect).
Wednesday, February 18:
We reviewed your vocabulary words. Don't forget, there will be a vocabulary
quiz on Friday. Please complete the following in your workbook: Page 31
activity 19 and 20, page 32 activity 23, page 33 activity 25. Then, make a
bumper sticker using one of the vocabulary words from Monday. It needs to
be
in Spanish, in color, creative, and have at least one picture.
Tuesday, February 17:
We received new vocabulary about the different places of the city. Please
get these notes from a companero de clase. We also had our presentations of
our skits. Then, we reviewed the conjugations of ir. Finally, homework was
to draw a map of Pensacola and label all the vocabulary words (such as bank,
super market, ect). Please color your map and turn it in for points.
Monday, February 16:
We received new vocabulary. Please get the vocabulary notes from a
companero
de clase. We also learned how to conjugate the verb "ir". Please look on
page 100 of your book and copy the conjugations onto your verb chart. Use
each verb in a sentence and turn in your 6 sentences for points. Finally,
create a dialogue using today's vocabulary with a companero de clase. Use
as
much vocabulary as you can. Each person needs to talk 5 times.

We spent time reviewing for your verb test tomorrow. For the test, make
sure you study the verbs on pages 82 and 94 of your book. Know the meanings
of these verbs and how to conjugate them. Also, know how to conjugate -ar, -
er, -ir verbs in sentences as well as the 3 meanings that each conjugation
can mean in the present tense. Finally, see me for a practice worksheet.
Tuesday, February 3:
Periods 1 and 2: We listened to a guest speaker talk about de Luna. You are
excused from this activity if you were absent. Period 3: Please see me for
a creative activity sheet about creating a comic strip.
Monday, February 2:
We practiced verbs for our verb test. Please get the notes from a companero
de clase about the three different meanings of a verb conjugation in the
present tense. For example, "yo hablo" can mean: 1) I talk, 2) I am talking
or 3) I do talk.
Friday, January 30:
Your test on -ar, -er, -ir verbs will be next Thursday. We practiced these
verbs in class today. Please see me for a -er, -ir worksheet.
Thursday, January 29:
We finished make-up presentations for the weather projects. Then we created
a chart with -ar, -er, -ir verbs. The -ir verb endings are: -o, -es, -e, -
imos, -ís, and -en. All of the conjugations are the same as -er verbs
EXCEPT nosotros and vosotros. Please see me for a green worksheet on -ar, -
er, -ir verbs. You will have a test on all these verbs next week.

this activity but please make sure you study the meanings of these pronouns.

Please see me for a yellow -ar verbs worksheet. Also, choose one of the
verbs on the worksheet to make a poster. It should include: 1) the verb you
choose, 2) the verb chart of the conjugations, and 3) a picture representing
the verb.
Wednesday, January 7:
Please see me for an -ar verbs worksheet. We leanred how to conjugate -ar
verbs. You will need to see me for help. We also took an in-class quiz.
