Students need to PRACTICE SIGNING NIGHTLY!!!!
Students in ASL I have their 9 week project which is due May 16-20. Their
project is a song. Students should pick a G rated song, they may do this
individually or as part of a duet (song should have two parts). They need to
have their song approved by me no later than April 12. Students should then
work on GLOSSING their song or changing it from English to ASL. This is
harder than students realize as they need to think of the meaning of the
song. I strongly urge ASL I students to pick a slow song...country or
ballads work well. They will then sign their songs and be graded.
ASL I current assignments:
Homework Exercise 2 page 223 A - Memorize the 6 sentences and sign for a
grade, part B is a 2 paragraph compare and contrast of sport signs that are
classifiers vs ones that are not classifiers. This will be due 4/6/2011.
Homework Exercise 4 page 230 will be due as written on 4/11/2011. This does
not need to be entirely memorized but students should know the signs that
they are signing.
ASL II - Nine weeks project is a song and it is due on April 18 & 19.
ASL III/IV Nine weeks project is a song and it is due on May 2-5.
