Marine Science and AP Environmental Science have two exams / quarter (4th and 8th Fridays). The Marine Science blocked class (4th or 5th period) have their exams every 3rd Friday of the quarter. General Environmental Science will have a quiz every Friday and a comprehensive quarter exam on the 9th Friday of the quarter. Marine Science 2 does not take quarter exams but does take a semester one. See calendar on this website for exact dates for all of these What type of questions are typically on an exam? AP exams are designed like the national AP exam. 60% will be multiple choice and there is a 0.25 penalty for quessing. 40% are free response questions that may involve mathematics. Calculators are NOT all on AP exams. Marine Science 1 is all short answer - there are no more than 37 questions on each exam. General Environmental Science will have a 5 question oral quiz every Friday. There will be a comprehensive quarter exam at the end of the quarter and it will be multiple choice. Marine Science 2 semester exam is all short answer and free response. I do not understand the 0-4 scale... can you explain?
What is the difference between a formal and informal lab? ` A formal lab is a scientific report. It includes an introduction, methods, data, and discussion section. It must be typed and appearance is important. Spelling and grammar are part of the grade. An informal lab is more like a workshort. Typically quick data collection and answer questions. Does my child have to work on a lab team? No... they may work individually if they wish What is a good school to attend for a degree in marine science? A good school :) You do not have to have a B.S. in marine science to work in the field. Degrees in chemistry, biology, geology and physics can all land careers in marine science. There are several schools in Florida that specialize in marine science. And each state in the south has at least one that does. There are plenty of good ones along the east and west coast of the U.S. If you have questions about a specific state or school, contact me. |
