Mrs. Berger's Octopus Class

Kindergarten does not have 'traditional' homework until later in the year; however we will be working with a variety of Take Home Backpacks.  They will rotate through the student list on a regular basis and reflect concepts we are learning in class. 

Rhyming Bag - The chosen student places a small, secret object in the bag and comes up with a word that rhymes with the item.  At Circle Time all the students recited the poem and then try to guess the item.  Later in the day it is displayed on the Snack Table. 

Reading Backpack - Two books are found in this backpack, one you read to your child and the other they read to you. 

Math Backpack - We have begun an indepth study of numbers 0-5.  The Math Backpack offers a fun game to help your child solidify these numbers.

Writing Backpack - This month the Writing Backpack is focusing on writing each others names.  Enclosed is a set of dotted name tags, dry-erase markers and an eraser.
