When is the best time to call you if I need to speak with you?
The best time to call is after 3:30 pm.
My child was absent. How can I get the work missed?
Your child will be given an opportunity to complete work in class.
What is the attendance policy?
The day your child is able to return to school, it is imperative that you
print the EXCUSED ABSENCE FORM, found in the "Parent Documents and
Forms"
section on the home page of this website. Without this form, or a note, we cannot grant
your child an excused absence.
An unexcused absence will be given if a note is not sent to
school within 3 days of the absence/s. After 10 absences, a DOCTOR'S NOTE MUST BE SUBMITTED in order to excuse any absences.
Serious absenteeism will be referred to administration for further review. Please refer to the BGEC Student Handbook for further information.
What about tardies?
It is especially important that your child arrives in school on time. A
child will be marked "tardy" if they are not in class by 8:30 am.
Please
stop by
the office to get a tardy pass. Excessive tardiness will also be referred to
administration.
What do I do if I can not print the Home Learning for the week?
Send an email, note or call us and request a hard copy for the week.
What is the procedure for sending money to school?
Please send money to school in a sealed envelope. Please write your child's
name, teacher's name, money amount, and what the money is for on the
envelope.
Money not sent in an envelope will not be accepted.
EXAMPLE:
John Doe
Mrs. Bauza & Mrs. Toledo
$ 5.00
Lunch money for the week
How can I volunteer in class?
If you are interested in volunteering you must submit a School
Volunteer form for approval. Once your application is processed you will be
given a volunteer number. Your volunteer number must be active if you would
like to volunteer in class. We will ask parents when there is an activity in
class. We make an effort to allow all parents an opportunity to volunteer
when necessary.
Can you tell me about the cafeteria/ lunch program?
Elementary students pay $2.25 daily for lunch. You may send the
weekly or bi-weekly amount in a sealed and labeled envelope to
school. This money will be deposited into your child's account. If you
received free or reduced lunch last year, you MUST FILL OUT A NEW
APPLICATION. Additionally, NO FAST FOOD LUNCHES WILL BE ALLOWED.
What if I need to change the way my child goes home?
Please print out the DISMISSAL CHANGE FORM in the "Parent Documents and
Forms" section and send it to school with your child. Without this form your
child will be dismissed the usual way that they go home.
Where can I find the weekly reading log?
The reading log can be found in the section titled "Home Learning".
Please print and submit this log with the home learning every week.
Will a hard copy of the home learning be sent home?
A hard copy of the home learning WILL NOT be sent home. We will upload the
home learning to the website on Monday. Please print it as well as the
weekly reading log and submit it on the day it is due.
