What is the best time to call you if I need to speak to you?
The best time to call us is during our planning time or after
school.
My child was absent. How can I get the work missed?
Your child will be given an opportunity to make up the
work in class.
What is the attendance policy?
The day your child is able to return, it is imperative that you
print the EXCUSED ABSENCE FORM found in the "Parent Documents and
Forms" section on the home page of this website. Without this form
we cannot grant your child an excused absence.
An unexcused absence will be given if a note is
not sent to school within 3 days of the absence/s. Serious absenteeism will
be referred to administration for further review.
What about tardies?
It is especially important that your child be in school on time.
A child will be marked as tardy if they are not in class by 8:35
am. Please stop by the office to get a tardy pass. Excesive
tardiness will be referred to administration.
What is the procedure for sending money to school?
Please send money to school in a sealed envelope. Write your
child's name, teacher's name, amount, and what the money is for on the
envelope. Money not sent in an envelope will not be accepted.
What is the policy for birthdays or celebrations?
Unfortunately, we do not hold birthday celebrations in class for
students. There will be no exceptions.
How can I volunteer in class?
If you are interested in helping out in class, you must submit a
school volunteer form for approval. Once your application is
processed, you will be given a volunteer number. Your volunteer
number must be active to volunteer in class. We
will inform parents when there is an activity in class and make an
effort to allow all parents an opportunity to volunteer when
necessary.
What does the term
As a result of the Jessica Lunsford Act (HB 1877), Bob Graham Education Center has
maintained a closed campus policy since the
2007-2008 school year . Parents/guardians must drop off
students in the designated drop off areas.
What is the policy on bringing siblings to actvities?
Please be advised that if you are visiting the school for an
activity in your child's classroom, you are NOT allowed to bring
a sibling or any other child that does not attend our school.
Having children on school grounds that do not attend our school
is a liability as well as a distraction.
Can you tell me about the cafeteria/ lunch program?
Elementary students pay $2.25 daily for lunch. If you received
free or reduced lunch last year, you MUST FILL OUT A NEW
APPLICATION. Additionally, NO FAST FOOD LUNCHES WILL BE ALLOWED.
PLEASE NOTE THAT STUDENTS WILL BE REQUIRED TO ENTER THEIR SEVEN
DIGIT STUDENT IDENTIFICATION NUMBER IN ORDER TO PURCHASE THEIR
LUNCH.
What is the school policy on distributing snacks in class?
Our school had become part of the Healthy Schools initiative. Therefore, cookies,
candy, chips and other snacks may not be distributed to other
students in the class. Thank you for your cooperation.
What if I need to change the way my child goes home?
Please print out the DISMISSAL CHANGE FORM in the "Parent
Documents and Forms" section and send it to school with your
child. Without this form, your child will be dismissed the usual
way he/she goes home.
Where can I find the weekly reading log?
The reading log can be found in the section titled 'Weekly
Reading Log'.
Where should my child line up in the morning upon arrival to school?
Our class has been assigned line #11 on the P.E. court. Students who
arrive to school before 8:20 a.m. should wait in line in a quiet
and orderly fashion. We will pick them up promptly at 8:25 a.m.
each morning. Students who arrive to school after 8:35 a.m. should proceed directly to our classroom, room 61.
If it is raining, students are to line up outside our classroom door.
