Elementary Music Classes Assignments

Every 3rd, 4th and 5th grade music student in Mrs. Carballo's classes needs to have a recorder for music by August 25th, 2008. They will be learning to read music and playing their recorder every music class. If they do not have one or have lost theirs, they can be purchased for $5.00 cash through Mrs. Carballo, Ms. Fojo, Mr. Bunn or Mr. Perez. They can also be purchased at a local music store.

  • Any student who does not bring their recorder to each music class will not receive full credit for their music assignments that day.
  • If a student fails to bring their recorder 2 times in one grading period, their music grade will drop one letter grade. For example, an A would drop to a B.
  • If student fails to bring their recorder 3 times in one grading period, their music grade will be dropped another letter grade and a parent conference will be requested. For example, a B would drop to a C.

If the student fails to bring their recorder 4 times in one grading period, their music grade will drop to an F and a parent conference will be held.

Grades 2-5 must have the Bob Graham School song and the Star Spangled Banner in their music folders as part of their weekly home learning assignment.

All Grades 2-5 will have a Secret Question, Vocabulary Test and a Notebook Check once each grading period.

The first grading period, the Secret Question, Vocabulary Test and Notebook check will be worth 1 grade each.

The second grading period, the Secret Question, Vocabulary  Test and Notebook check will be worth 2 grades each.

The third grading period, the Secret Question, Vocabulary Test and Notebook check will be worth 3 grades each.

The fourth grading period, the Secret Question, Vocabulary Test and Notebook check will be worth 4 grades each.

It is the student's responsibility to get any work they miss due to an absence from their weekly music class. No make up work will be provided for unexcused absences.
