Do I have to volunteer?

Joining the PTSA does not require you to volunteer. However, any
volunteer assistance at the school is appreciated. It is all
vital to achieving the goals of the PTSA and the school
community. Even one hour a school year is of benefit.

If I don't have time to volunteer, why should I join the PTSA?

By adding your name to our roster of members, you increase our
collective strength. Your name increases the strength of the
Florida PTA and National PTA when dealing with the State
Legislature or U.S. Congress on behalf of children.

What happens to the dues I pay for PTSA?

Of the dues, $3.00 goes to National and Florida PTA (they provide
materials and publications, support workshops that address the
welfare of children, serve the needs of local units, etc.) The
rest of the PTSA dues stay at BGEC to support various programs
and activities in our school community. The more you contribute,
the more programs we can fund at BGEC.
