As a graduate of all the Booker schools (1977-1989), I am thrilled to be
teaching at Booker Middle! I am also a graduate of the University of
Illinois at Chicago Psychology Program, and am currently working on an MBA
through Liberty University. Although this is only my fourth year teaching,
I have over 10 years of business experience in the insurance industry. My
spare time is spent with my two daughters, Isabella (12) and Anna (6), and
my husband.
My goal for the students this year is that they leave this school with a
better understanding of who they are and what possibilities exist for them.
I want them to know that they CAN become professionals and that they WILL be
the role models for the next generation. However, in order to be successful
they must be diligent in doing their homework, classwork, and in studying
for tests.
There is a county-wide assessment for social studies this year. In my
class, the students are preparing for this by familiarizing themselves with
same questions that will be on this exam.
Additionally, the students will be meeting many professionals in our
community in an effort to help them understand more about what career paths
are available and how to get there. By the first couple of weeks in
December, they will have had to have selected a career track for high school.
