I am an FSU graduate with my Master's in Music Education. I have been at
Booker Middle since 2004, and everyday has been incredibly new and unique. I
look forward to working with our many talented students in chorus classes,
music appreciation classes, and school-wide musicals. On top of being a
teacher, I am a professional musician in the Sarasota area. I perform a great
deal and truly enjoy being on stage. I encourage my students to get out and
see as much live music as they can...those experiences make students better
musicians.
The mission for chorus is simple: sing like you mean it! If you choose chorus
as an encore class, please come ready to give it all you can. Along with
singing everyday, students are exposed to new music from all over the world;
students learn the history of music; and students are encouraged to share
their opinions about music from every genre. "You don't have to like
everything you hear, but you have to appreciate it". This mantra is held
close to my heart and I teach it to all students in the Booker Middle School
Chorus Program.
