Dear Parents,               
            
Happy New Year!!! I hope that you all enjoyed yourselves during the holiday break. The FCAT Writing Test is on February 28th. This week, the students will be completing the Winter Interim Assessments. These assessments are used to monitor student progress. Please make sure the students are here on time each and every day!! Here is a look at what we are doing in school:

Home Learning: Home Learning is checked EVERY day. Some days, I may check the assignment and include it as a grade. Please make sure that your child is doing their assignments correctly each and every night.

Morning: If you would like your child to come early to school to complete Success Maker or Reading Plus, I am here every day by 8:00 am. Please feel free to send them.


Reading: We will begin reviewing the NGSSS through the use of our Storyworks Magazine articles and practice passages

Language Arts:  We will be reviewing the steps of the writing process and continue revising and editing our own writing. We will also be working on Narrative and Expository Essays

Math: We will be learning about fractions, decimals to the thousandths place and practicing putting them in order frmo least to greatest and greatest to least

Science: MInerals! Minerals!! Let's learn about the minerals in the Earth
