A graduate of Bucknell University in Pennsylvania, Mrs. Martineau is in
her seventh year at Coral Glades. She has taught Advanced Placement
Calculus AB and/or BC 20 years, in addition to two semesters of Calculus at
the University of Virginia School of Engineering. She has also taught a
variety of other mathematics courses, including Algebra 1A and 1B, SAT Prep,
Algebra 2 and Algebra 2 Honors, Trigonometry and Analytic Geometry, Algebra I
Honors and Integrated Math.
All classes will learn to work with functions represented graphically,
numerically, analytically, and verbally, and will understand the connections
among these representations. Students will also learn to explain their
answers in a precise and concise manner. Use of the graphing calculator will
be an integral part of the Calculus courses and will be introduced in the
Algebra 2 Honors classes. By truly understanding the connections in
mathematics, students begin to appreciate the beauty of the
subject.
