Welcome to Third Grade! I would like to take the opportunity to allow you to
get to know me. I was born and raised in New Jersey. I attended the
University of Scranton in Pennsylvania where I received my Bachelor’s Degree
in Elementary Education. I then went on to get my Masters Degree in English
as a Second Language from Boston University. I moved to Florida in the
summer of 2006 and began teaching here at David Lawrence Jr. K-8 Center. I
am thrilled to be a part of this wonderful community of learners.
As always, the new school year holds the promise of new discovery and
learning, as well as the prospect of personal growth in all areas. I look
forward to getting to know your children and each of you as well. It has
continuously been proven that learning occurs better if the teacher, parent,
child, and school community are involved together. My experience has shown
this to be true and I look forward to having parents and family members
volunteer in any way possible. It is my goal this year that together we will
make third grade a successful and rewarding learning experience for your
child.
In my classroom, I promote an atmosphere of safety, trust, and respect. I
work hard to build a sense of community among my students, and I emphasize
the idea of teamwork. I value cooperation and collaboration both in my
classroom and as I work with my peers. I believe that great things can
happen when we work together!
