Will we have homework every night?
The only thing I can say about homework is that sometimes you will have homework and sometimes you will not, much will depend on what we
get through in class. You will be expected to continue to work on any papers/projects/independant readings on your own time.
Where can I find out what I missed if I was absent?
Check the assignment page for your class. It gives a brief description of what we did that day and list any page numbers or
assignments given from your textbook. You may also want to check the class calendar for additional information.
What if I missed an assignment from the previous week?
Check the class archives link...it has a list of everything we have done in class since the first day of the term.
Where can I find out when an assignment is due?
If you do not remember when an assignment is due, check the calendar link. You can also check the calendar in the classroom.
What do I do with my handouts and notes from class?
Keep your handouts and all notes you take in class in your binders/notebook. This information will make up your
study guide when it is time to take the test. Remember, I do not provide study guides.
I was absent the day you passed out the handouts how do I get them?
You need to check and see if any handouts were passed out the day you come back, DO NOT wait until the day we review the
information. First check the Handout Folder link, the handout you are looking for may be there. If not, check the back table
in the classroom or come and see me. If you wait until the day we are covering the notes, you run the risk of the handouts
being gone as students who lose or misplace their handouts have the opportunity to have handouts on the day that we review the
notes.
What if I was not in class to get notes? How do I get the notes?
If you are not in class the day I give notes, you have two options. 1 - check the handout link and see if a copy of the
notes are online. 2 - get any missing notes from a classmate.
What if my absence is due to a school function/field trip?
This is not an excuse not to have your completed assignment when you return or before you leave. School functions are announced in
advance; you need to see me before you leave to find out what you will be missing, and have it with you when you return. If a test
is scheduled you need to be prepared to take before the day of the school function/field trip or be preaperd to take it when you
return.
What if my assignment is not finished by the due date?
You are given plenty of time to complete all assignments. If your assignment is not going to be completed by the due date you
need to come and speak with me to see if you can get an extension. Please come and see me BEFORE the assignment is due to
talk about the extension and bring with you the work you have completed to date. If you have complented NOTHING, then an extention
may not be granted.
If I am absent the day before the test, do I still have to take the test?
Yes, you still have to take the test; all test are announced in advance, not the day before the test. Most times the information
given the day before a test is on a new unit.
What if I do not turn in an assignment or make up a test?
If you do not turn in an assignment or make up a test when you are absent, a zero will be recorded.
It is YOUR responsibility to make arrangements to make up any work you are missing in a timely manner.
