Welcome our intern from Florida Memorial, Mr. Marc Douglas.
Mr. Douglas is from Trindad and will graduate this April from Florida
Memorial University with a degree in Music Education. He plans to persue a
Masters of business administration and higher education at the Northern
Illinois University after graduation.
Mr. Douglas is the captain of the Florida Memorial Steel Band. He graciously
shared his knowledge and expertise of steel drum performing with our 2nd,
3rd and 4th grade students. In the pictures you can see him assisting and
teaching our students how to hold a steel drum mallet and how to strike a
note correctly on the drum. He brought the tenor and double tenor drums from
his own collectiion to share with our boys and girls.
