Silent Auction
Our Silent Auction will take place on Friday, November 13th, from
6:00-8:00 P.M. in the cafeteria. I will be listing a
Saturday shopping (book), lunch, movie, and ice cream for a student and a
friend of his/her choice as a Silent Auction item. I would love to have you
bid on it.
Unfortunately, I will be in North Carolina that Friday, so I will not
be able to attend the auction. I am so sorry to miss it. I will be anxious
to hear about the wonderful things they are offering and look forward to a
Saturday outing with a couple of students. Have fun!!

Survival Math//Exploring Literature
Our first Survival Math project will be due on November 19th (this is
a change of due date from 11/12). You should have reviewed and signed the
project guidelines and requirements for Survival Math and Exploring
Literature that are in the back section of the students’ notebooks. We will
review the guidelines and rubric thoroughly. Students will be responsible
for completing note cards, which we will outline in class. They will then
present orally to the class. Students will become experts in public speaking.

Field Trip to the Edison Home in Ft. Myers
We will be participating with the fourth graders on a field trip to
the Edison Home in Ft. Myers on December 3rd. Mrs. Millar wrote and was
awarded a grant for this trip, so the cost of the entire trip is $9.00. An
out-of-county field trip form must be completed and notarized, along with the
regular permission form.
If you are interested in chaperoning, please let me know.

Reading
We are enjoying reading The Talking Earth and journaling, learning
about flora, fauna, similes, geographic terms, and analyzing descriptive
phrases. We are also discovering character traits, actions, thoughts, and
motives in our novel and in Storytown reading selections.

Keep flying!”
