Meet Mrs. Deming

 I have taught for 26 years in Sarasota County, first as an 
instructional aide at Nokomis School, next in Head Start at Southside and 
North Port, and then in third and fourth grade at Bay Haven School of Basic 
Plus.  I taught at Laurel Nokomis School for eight years, seven of those 
years teaching in the Gifted Program at third and fourth grade, before 
coming to Fruitville Elementary in 2004.  I earned my Bachelor's Degree 
from the University of South Florida in 1988 and my Master's Degree from 
National Louis University in 1997.  I am certified in Early Education, 
Elementary Education, Gifted, and ESOL.  I was named Sarasota County's 
Elementary Teacher of the Year for 2003-04 and was then named 2003-2004 
Teacher of the Year for Sarasota County District Schools. I earned my 
National Board Professional Teaching certificate in 2007.

Learning is discovering that something is possible. Difficult: that which can be done immediately. Impossible: that which takes a little longer.

Learning never stops at any age.  We all continue to learn from each other.  
We will come to school each day prepared to teach and learn together.
