How do I sign up to play a sport?

There is a form located in each orientation packet that allows 
students to sign up for sports teams.  Students may also sign up 
on posted sheets located on the middle school cafeteria bulletin 
board throughout the year, or they can see Mrs. Nightingale.  
Parents may also email Mrs. Nightingale at

What does my child need to participate in a school team sport?

Each student must have:
1. Sports physical - this specifically gives clearance from a 
doctor to participate in extaracurricular sports 
2. Parent/Student Consent Form - this must be signed by both 
student and parent
3. Sports fees must be paid - football is $50, hockey is $20, and 
all other sports are $40

What do International students need in order to participate in Athletics?

1. Students must sign up for each particular sport by the given 
deadline.  Sign-up notifications are included at Orientation and 
are posted publicly throughout the school year.
2. All players are required to have a physical giving clearance 
to participate in extra-curricular sports.  The Physical Form can 
be printed from the website and must be completed by a doctor.
3. International students must have Mr. Chapman complete the 
International Form (also found on this website).  
4. Sports fees (up to TWO sports) are included in International 
tuition fees.  International students who wish to play additional 
sports will be charged the appropriate sports fee(s).

How can I get the forms my student needs to play sports?

Forms may be requested from Mrs. Nightingale or can be accessed 
through the website.  On the main athletics page,choose "Athletic 
Forms", click the link for the desired form, and print.

Where can I find directions to AWAY games?

Simply go to the Athletics home page on this website and choose 
"Game Directions."  It will give you information and directions 
to opposing schools in alphabetical order.  Please make sure you 
have the correct name (some schools are very similar in name)and 
correct location (some play different sports in separate 
locations).  Other schools do not play on their school site.  If 
you have any questions, please contact Mrs. Nightingale.

How does my child get to AWAY Games?

Students may ride the GPS bus to all Away Games.  Students who 
drive their own car may drive themselves ONLY to any game.  
Parents are welcome to pick any player up from the games or from 
the GPS campus when the bus returns.  WHEN AWAY GAMES ARE HELD AT 
ELFERS, GRACE, OR FELLOWSHIP, THE BUS WILL DROP PLAYERS OFF BUT 
WILL NOT RETURN THEM TO THE SCHOOL.  PARENTS ARE RESPONSIBLE TO 
PICK PLAYERS UP FROM THE GAME SITES ON THOSE DATES.

Where does my child go after school on game days?

Football players are to report to Coach Otis's room on game 
days.  All other players are to report to Mrs. Nightingale's room 
after dismissal on game days.  They will wait there for coaches 
to arrive for Away Games or until there is supervision in the gym 
for Home Games.

What are the eligibility rules?

A student must have a 2.0 grade average and must be passing every 
class in order to be eligible to play sports.  Students who fall 
below a C- average or fail a class on a progress report/report 
card are ineligible for participation in all practices and games 
until the next progress report/report card in which the grade(s) 
are brought up.
