Attendance

Regular and punctual attendance is probably one of the most important factors that contribute to your child’s success in the classroom.  Every student must be in the classroom promptly at 8:30 a.m.  If your child is not in school by 8:30 a.m. he/she will be marked tardy.  Every morning students have routine activities to help prepare them for the rest of the day.  Tardiness will affect their preparation and they will miss the activities planned in the morning.  Parents please refrain from picking up your children before dismissal.  If your child is picked up before dismissal he/she will miss the subjects being taught in the afternoon.  This can seriously affect their progress in the afternoon subjects.  Parents please make sure your child is present and on time to school every day.  In case of an emergency or an illness, please provide me with a note from the doctor’s office as soon as your child returns to school.   You may write a note to me informing me of your child’s absence or tardiness, but we cannot accept more than 5 parent written notes during the entire school year.
