Students will learn proper keystroke technique for new keys introduced. Students will be able to determine keyboarding speed and accuracy through a series of timed writings. Thursday-Friday (All Periods) Lesson Plans-Week of April 28, 2008 - After instruction: Students will be able to explore the role technology plays in their lives today and how they might learn, interact and entertain themselves in the future. They will also learn about technology trade-offs, including decreased privacy for increased convenience and efficiency. Students will read the following articles from the Classroom Edition of the Wall St. Journal: "Thinking About Tomorrow" cover story pp. 6-8, answer questions 1-3 pg. 2 of the Teacher Guide; and "Who Knew" pg. 9 (Discuss). Monday-Tuesday Students will be able to learn how a famous entrepreneur got his start. Watch video on entrepreneur, write pertinent facts about his life. (Allow students to select video/entrepreneur they wish to learn about). Wednesday Students will be able to understand the importance of getting the knowledge and skills necessary to make informed career decisions; learn about their interests, likes and dislikes. Start unit on career exploration/Career Cruiser a career and education planning guide. Thursday (All Periods) Students will be able to enhance a presentation by doing the following: apply bullets, apply numbering, add a table and enter data, use borders and shading, add a graph, apply slide transitions, apply custom animation, add sounds, insert pictures. Friday (Periods 1, 4, 5) Students will continue to enhance keyboarding skills by learning proper keystroke technique for new keys introduce and focusing on proper ergonomics and techniques.
