CULTURE-way of life of a group of people who share similar beliefs and customs.

EIGHT TRAITS- social groups, language, religion, daily life, history, arts, government and economy. REVIEW WHEEL                                                    ETHNIC GROUPS-people who share a common language, history, religion, and some physical characteristics.

DIALECT-local form of a language

GOVERNMENT

               DEMOCRACY-representative and direct

               MONARCHY-absolute and constitutional

               DICTATORSHIP

CULTURAL DIFFUSION-spreading of new knowledge and skills to other cultures. Result of trade, movement of people, war, television, and the Internet.

CIVILIZATIONS-resulted from people staying in one place and built settlements

INDUSTRIAL REVOLUTION- the beginning of industry and factories began in the 1700s and 1800s.

INFORMATION TECHNOLOGY-Internet

CULTURAL REGIONS-geographers group the world’s countries according to common traits and characteristics.
