What do I do if my child is going to be absent?
Please make sure to call the school and give them your child's name, grade
level, and Identification number. Also, you will need to send a note with
them when they return to school. If it's more than one day please send a
doctor's note with them. If note is not sent the child's absence will be
considered as unexcused. Vacations are not considered excused absences. Your
child will also have to make up the assignments missed for those days absent.
--------------------------------------
What do I do if my child tells me he has no homework.
Your child always has homework unless otherwise informed. Homework is given
Monday and Wednesdays for Language Arts and Social Studies. Tuesdays and
Thursdays for Math and Science. Make sure to check the website or their
organizer if you have any further doubts. Even if your child has no homework
assigned for a specific day. The daily homework assignment for every child
is to be reading for at least 30 minutes. He/She should be reading aloud to
you so that you may correct them.
--------------------------------------
How can I contact my child's teacher?
Call the school (305)932-3810 after 8:20 a.m. and make an appointment with
them.
--------------------------------------
What happens if my child does not make his day?
According to our Behavior Management System it all depends on what level
they have acheived. If your child does not make a certain amount of days as
per that level they will be put on probation. This means that their
priviledges in/out of class will be withheld.
--------------------------------------
What should I do if my child has is not being picked up by transportation.
Parents should call the school and let them know their child was not picked
up so they are aware. The best thingis to call Miami-Dade Schools
Transportation Department with any complaints about the busses/bus
drivers. Teachers are not responsible for transporation issues.
