HAPPY NEW YEAR to everyone.
A very special thank you to all of the parents who showered me with gifts,
donations, your time and help. You are truly an amazing group. Many student
learning experiences have been possible because of you. I am very blessed.
We are off and ready to start the new year with some exciting new experiences.
This month the students will be learning about weather as they become real
meteorologists. They will also learn how other cultures celebrate the new
year. In math, we will begin a new unit on addition and subtraction concepts.
Accelerated Reader (AR) will continue as well as Destination Learning
(Riverdeep). AR can only be accessed at school, but Destination Learning can
be used at home. Your child's ID# and password are located on the first page
of his/her planner. Please have your child read AR books at home so that they
may take the comprehension tests at school and earn points. AR book titles can
be checked on AR website: www.arbookfind.com.
Please remember that homework will be given on Mondays and are due on Fridays
of each week. Check the homework link for spelling lists.
Please continue to send a water bottle daily for your child. It is important
for the body to be hydrated throughout the day as this affects your child's
thinking and learning.
