GOOD ADVICE ON HELPING KIDS BECOME LIFELONG READERS:

Buy your kids books. They cost much less that cable TV and offer
children ownership of the written word.

Put book baskets in the bathroom and at the breakfast table to make sure
kids always have something to read.

Put a good reading light over your children's beds
and let them stay up a little later when they are reading.

Turn on closed caption feature of your televisions, but limit TV
total viewing to a few hours each week

Remember reading achievement is the best predictor of academic &
       career success
