The second grade has chosen the
Christmas Toy Shop as their service project this year. This organization
works year-round to provide toys during the holidays to less fortunate
children in Pinellas County. Our students will collect money as well as
gently used toys and make a once-per month visit to the 16th Street
store. Additionally, on the 2nd Saturday of the month
beginning in February, small groups of children and parents can volunteer at
the donation center to work behind the scenes to help the store prepare toys
for the children. Website: http://www.christmastoyshop.org/volunteering.html
At this time you are welcome to begin
sending in any items that we can deliver over the Thanksgiving holiday. I'm
told that they are particularly in need of the $5-$7 Fisher-Price toys from
Big Lots for 2-3 year olds.
