While we get used to using the daily planner, I will (TRY TO) post the nightly homework assignments here.  This page will be more detailed than what the students can write out.

 

Parents, please check the "Agenda" or "Daily Planner" found in your child's BEE Binder each night.  It is helpful if you add your initials to each day's assignment page when your child shows you his/her completed homework. 

 

Each night, your child should spend time reading.  Please help your child by reminding him/her to put the book title(s) read on the reading log.  Keeping the reading log in the BEE Binder will help with organization.  It's tempting to put it on the refrigerator, but in the past, it has resulted in mis-placed reading logs. 

 

 Spelling:  Each night, students should sort their word cards, say the words out loud straight down the column, listening for spelling pattern sounds that might not belong.  Then, complete one of the choice activities.  The Speller's Choice form is uploaded to the PRINT THIS page in case your child loses it.  There are three different word lists on www.spellingcity.com/hfcsgrade2.  Your child knows which list to work with.  You do not have to print out the spellingcity activities:  simply jot down in the Word Journal the name of the activity and the date it was completed.   I will not take daily grades for spelling homework, but this routine will help your child develop spelling skills and will help with reading and writing fluency.
