Important Announcement Regarding Lunch

Respect for our bodies - Respect for the planet - Respect for each other!

Starting in October, Jacobson Sinai Academy is changing the way we lunch. Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays will be meat and parve days. Tuesdays and Thursdays will be dairy days. Every day will be a healthy eating day. When you pack your child's lunch, please think about what's healthy for their growing bodies, what's good for the planet, and what's respectful of the friends in their class who keep kosher or are vegetarian or vegan.

 UPCOMING FIELD TRIPS:
*Humane Society - Tuesday, Feb. 7th
Please bring in toys, treats, and supplies for dogs and cats.
*Flamingo Gardens - Thursday, March 22nd
   Bring lunch in disposable containers.

The second grade team has been very committed to sensitizing our students to "kindness to animals and human beings". The students have been writing about what "kindness" means to them based on personal experiences. In addition, we have navigated the digital version of the Miami Herald and read about tending animals that have been abandoned and abused. Our second graders are saddened by this information and they plan to write an editorial to express their  disappointment in the gross negligence and lack of human kindness that has caused this outrageous condition. It is our goal to raise awareness and promote "kindess to animals".

In Math we are practicing mixed addition and subtraction of double digit numbers with regrouping.

In Social Studies we have been learning interesting facts about past presidents of the United States. We have been using different resources to gather information, such as encyclopedias, interenet, and books.
Jacobson Sinai Academy provides academic excellence while nurturing souls for a fuller Jewish life.
