Parents, My apologies. These last few weeks, in preparation for my wedding I
have been slack with my website. As many of you now know we have a new
co-teacher. Ms.Rodriguez is a great teacher.
Welcome to YOUR 2009-2010 school year. Although 4th grade can be a formidable
year, I am sure that with hard work, discipline and a desire to learn that
you, the student, will rise to the occasion and attain the academic goals that
you and your parents have set for yourself. In 4th grade, we transition from
the learning to read (basics) of the 3rd grade curriculum to a formidable
reading to learn curriculum. Also in fourth grade writing expository and
narrative essays are a focus as they represent your writing capabilities.
Students will learn to write 5 paragraph essays, read text which are much
denser, and contain more information with vocabulary that is commensurate with
their grade level. As with many endeavors in life, you get out what you put
into them. We the teachers are here to facilitate your learning in a student
focused setting. The more effort you put into your classwork, studies and
home-learning assignments the more you will learn and the better you will do!
I look forward to working with each and everyone of you and wish you the VERY
