Dear Parents,
Today your child will take home with them their Winter Holiday Packet
assignment. Please note that this packet is a review of all the concepts
that have been taught in class both for reading and math. It is very
important that the boys and girls complete this packet as accurately as
possible. This packet is to be returned to me by January 5, 2009.
Also, on Friday we will be holding our Polar Express Pajama Celebration.
The boys and girls may come with their Pajamas and a favorite blanket or
teddy bear. We will serve delicious chocolate milk and have a wonderful day
with educational activities. Please feel free to send any scrumptious
goodies with your child for all to share.

Your child has taken home a science fair packet that will be completed step
by step. Please keep abreast of the project and help your child complete it.
We are in the process of completing a sample project so that you may have an
additional guide to assist you.

will also find a STAR report notifying you of their current reading level as
well as a list of all the AR books that have been taken in class.

A few parents have advised me that they are having difficulties utilizing the
program 'Java' for Reading Plus. Please note that I will contact the person
in charge of this program and will advise you of any updates.

Our first class project has been assigned. A letter was sent home with your
child detailing the requirements for creating a Writer's Notebook. I look
forward to seeing the wonderful work the boys and girls will bring to the
class.
Also, I would like to take this opportunity to thank the parents of Kevin
Polanco, Diandre Irizarry and Christian Miranda for their generous donation

Welcome back to another exciting year at KLE. This website has been designed
to keep you abreast of what your child is learning in school. Please feel
free to explore each link as they will be updated weekly. I have sent home
a packet of forms that must be reviewed, signed and return to our class as
soon as possible. Also, I have provided a list of school supplies that is
due 8/25.
