What is the purpose of this page?

This page is here because I want parents to have a strategy to
prevent bad
grades, or to help parents and students if it is well into the
grading
period. Parents, I want you to know that there is something you
can do to
monitor your child's work and grades to make sure they have a
successful
year.

What can I do to help prevent my child from failing?

If your child is failing, or if you want to prevent them from
failing, the
best startegy is to keep up with what is happening on a daily
basis and to
keep your child responsible for his/her actions. I know, easier
said than
done. Here is what can be done to help.

1. Have the student write down in their planner the daily agenda.
2. With the student, have them show you their spiral notebook of
classwork
and see what is missing so it can be made up in time for the
notebook check.
3. Once the notebook is up to date sit down with the student and
their
notebook every night and have them show you what they did that
day.
4. Find out when the next test is so they can begin studying. The
students
can make notecards with questions and answers each night, so when
test time
comes you will be prepared.
