What is your discipline policy?
1. Warning, may be verbal or non-verbal
2. Contact home to parent/guardian and possible seat change
3. 30 minute after-school detention and notification of guidance counselor,
other team teachers, club sponsors and/or coaches
4. Referral to discipline office
*5 minutes PAT time (see "rewards") will be deducted for each infraction
past a warning. When time is deducted, the student will need to sit at his
or her desk quietly and will be unable to participate in class games,
computer time, independent reading, make-up work, etc.
--------------------------------------
What are the rewards for good behavior?
1. Weekly Preferred Activity Time (PAT) - 20 minutes on Friday.
2. Occasionally, edible treats will be provided by Mrs. Faircloth
--------------------------------------
How do I contact Mrs. Faircloth if the school day is out?
You can call my cell phone any day, (863)712-1742, before 8:00 PM. In
addition to that, you can email me by clinking on the letter symbol on the
home page.
--------------------------------------
What are the class rules?
1. Watch your mouth - Students will exhibit courtesy toward all other
students, teachers, and visitors to our classroom at all times. Listen when
others are talking. Work quietly and do not disturb others. Do not say "shut-
up" as this phrase has no place in school. Hateful comments concerning race,
ethnicity, gender, sexuality, political views, appearance, or of any other
type will not be tolerated; this applies to serious as well as "joking"
comments.
2. Keep your hands to yourself - Physical contact of any kind is not
permitted. Violation of this simple rule will be punished by the most severe
consequences possible. Show respect for our school property as well as
personal property.
3. Stay in your seat - Do not walk around during class unless directed to do
so. Have everything you need ready before class begins.
4. Leave the food at home (with the exception of bottled water) - Students
may not eat or drink in the classroom (unless medically necessary). This
includes gum and candy. Exceptions are closable containers of water or
treats provided by Mrs. Faircloth. All trash should be collected and
disposed of at the end of class.
5. I need to see your eyes - Students may not sleep in class. To prevent
this, students' eyes must be open and visible to the teacher at all times.
6. Nothing goes airborn - Nothing will go airborn in class at any time. This
includes pens, papers, books, trash, and other students.
7. Be productive - Follow directions; stay on task; complete assignments and
homework on time; correct your mistakes; produce original work.
8. Be prompt - Be in your seat when the tardy bell rings, with your supplies
present, and ready to work. Your binder, homework, writing utensil, book,
and other necessary materials should be out and ready.
9. Be positive - Come to class with a positive attitude. Do not put down
yourself (or others) or your abilities. Mentally encourage and challenge
yourself.
10. Be polite - Show respect to each other and to all adults in your words
and body language.
--------------------------------------
What happens if my cell phone rings or is out during class?
It will be taken by Mrs. Faircloth and turned into the discipline office.
Arrangements will need to be made to collect it through one of the
disciplinary deans.
