.

Sometime soon we'll have the review diagnostic test over terms. Download the AP LIT TERM sheet. It's slightly different from the AP Language since it has poetry terminology included.

***THESIS STATEMENTS (tentative) are due by Wednesday Sept. 3rd. If you haven't yet decided on a book, I'm not sure how you will pull off a thesis. Sometime soon we'll have the review diagnostic test over terms. Download the AP LIT TERM sheet. It's slightly different from the AP Language since it has poetry terminology included.

VERY   IMPORTANT   NOTE on the THESIS assignment above:    Some people missed the deadline because they sent in something that did not work. Only the people who had workable thesis statements ON  THE  3rd will receive full credit. Those who redo their problem theses by SEPT. 4 will get 75%. After that, there's no credit for the thesis, but you still have to have one approved before you can do the next paper.

Week of September 1

Tuesday--Heart of Darkness discussion. Returned essays filed in folders, period 7.

Wednesday--**THESIS  statements are due ONLINE. Returned essays filed in folders, period 4. Continue discussion one more day *(we do not need to watch the Discovery video!). This will be the last chance to point out some important passage--does NOT have to be within your category.

Thursday--Essay #1 on Heart of Darkness.

Week of September 8

Monday--Essay # 2

Tuesday--Rubric Essay #2 (same as Friday). Hand in. **

Group Categories for One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest will be posted.  I will give you a variety of materials produced by people in the past.  You will evaluate the content and pull out the most relevant.  You will then create a Power Point that combines the best of all the materials, adding ideas of your own.  Each person will write a paper explaining exactly what he/she contributed to the process. Figure out how and when you will assemble the final creation to present to the class in a week. You will need to manually number the chapters in the Cuckoo novels. They aren't numbered. Use sticky tabs and annotations to find what you need quickly!!

Wednesday--STUDENT HOLIDAY. TEACHER  WORK  DAY.

Thursday--Essay #3.

Friday--**PRELIMINARY RESEARCH PAPER DUE in the black box  (casual overview).  See explanations on the general page.

Rubric Essay #3 carefully. Return to owner. Look over all 3 papers on H of D. Write a brief paper discussing your strengths and weaknesses on all three. Attach together and star the paper you think represents your best attempt. Hand in as a packet. (f you are absent, you must come in before school to go through the papers and follow these directions. I arrive at school a little after 6 daily)
