==If you are new to the AP ENGLISH classes and have not given me a copy of the 5-page information form, you may download it (first item under the AP LANGUAGE DOWNLOADS ICON). BRING IT TO CLASS THE FIRST DAY. ==When school starts, you should have read the assigned material so you don't have to scramble to catch up. ==Once school starts, always FOLLOW THE SYLLABUS CLOSELY OR YOU WILL NOT KNOW WHAT IS GOING ON. ****NOTE: ==This year you are expected to contribute a ream of paper as part of your school supplies. Please bring it in as soon as you can--or we can arrange for you to bring it in later on (We DO have a storage issue in my small room.) Also, you are encouraged to bring in hand sanitizer, paper towels, and tissues as part of the original supply list. These are expected and not for points. It's a rough budget year, and we have no money for basics, so your helpfulness would be appreciated! +++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++++ =========================================================================== SIGNED TESTS!!!--If you make below a 70 on a test, you must have your parents sign it, and then you must return it promptly. It's embarrassing for you if I have to call to find out where the test has gone. PLEASE RETURN IT WITHIN A DAY OR TWO. -------------------------------------------------------------------------- ==YOUR RESEARCH INFORMATION FOR AP ENGLISH LIT STUDENTS IS UNDER THE MISCELLANEOUS ICON (the ape). ^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ ==PUNCTUATING QUOTATIONS: Modern English Handbook: Sixth Edition, Gorrell and Laird Periods and commas are always placed inside quotation marks. Everyone needs a job to be involved in APE, INC. __________________________________________________________________________ ============================================================================= ****SAVE-THE-TEACHER APE RULE #1: COLLECT A NUMBER OF FRIENDS WHOM YOU CAN CALL WHEN YOU HAVE QUESTIONS OR COMPUTER PROBLEMS--PEOPLE WHO WILL ADDRESS A QUICK NEED OR PRINT UP A COPY OF SOMETHING IF YOUR PRINTER IS DOWN. YOU SHOULD SHARE PHONE NUMBERS AND E- MAIL ADDRESSES WITH PEOPLE IN YOUR GROUP AS YOUR FIRST LINE FOR HELP. CALL OR WRITE THEM--OR THE SOCIAL WORKERS!-- IF YOU NEED CLARIFICATION ABOUT SOME SMALL DETAIL. SAVE ME FOR EMERGENCY SITUATIONS AND SIGN-UPS. THANKS! =) MS.SHELNUT ***************************************************************************** ==NOTE: This year I do not have a phone or office space at school, so I will not be available during the day except via e-mail. Please feel free to share this information with your parents. I would love to hear from them!! **************************************************************************** ==RICHTEXT STEPS--for sending attachments --Open your document, go to FILE on the toolbar menu and then to SAVE AS. Adjust the options (SCROLL) in the window at the bottom of the page to richtext (RTF) file. --Double CLICK and it will give you options (window/box) as to what part (FILE FOLDER) of the computer to save it in. I have a special folder for such things under "MY DOCUMENTS" in the "C" hard drive. When the window/box opens, you decide where to save. --SAVE IT to your computer where you can find it! --With your mail open, hit the ATTACH ICON OR BUTTON (it's different with various programs). For many mail systems, you will see a PAPER CLIP as a clue that you are getting ready to ATTACH a file to send to someone. --You will see your computer's C drive. It will open in its own little box, right there in front of you. Find the document where you stored it (the document has to be closed--you can't have it open on your computer or it won't send!!!) --Click on it twice, and it will attach to your mail. --HIT SEND, and it should be on its way to the recipient.
