Book Report- 4th Quarter
FOCUS: THE MAIN CHARACTER---- The Puppet Project!!!!
Who is the "star" in your book? You are to create a puppet/model of
your "star" the protagonist/main character- from an AR book you have read
this quarter.
The puppet/model should resemble that character in every way! The clothes,
facial features, hair style/color, etc. should be as close as possible to
the appearance of your main character- whether it be human, animal, alien,
whatever.
You will need to pay close attention as you read, so you do not miss any
details which will help you make an accurate and attractive model that
closely resembles your main character.
If you feel ambitious, you may also include any props that are associated
with the main character such as a hatchet with Brian, a golden candy bar with
Charlie, a wand with Harry, a dictionary with Freak, a mouse with Stargirl, a
shovel with Stanley, or a bow and arrow with Katniss.
For those of you that really want your puppet/model to be in a class by
itself, you can display your puppet/model in a setting found in your book!
This is the last book report of the year. Make it your best!!!!!!
DUE: THURSDAY, MAY 24th.

Your book report will be graded as follows:
1)Appearance of puppet/model-----75 pts.
2)"I AM" poem (given in class)--- 25 pts.

*Spelling, grammar and punctuation counts!!!
EXTRA CREDIT: Up to 30 extra points!!!!

*Excellence of Presentation
*Handing in syllabus/rubic (+5 pts.)
PRESENTATION:
Your presentation will include the following:
*Title of book and author; name of character
*"I AM" poem from character's point of view
*Poem will give us a sense of the plot and what the character is like
*Learn your poem-be familiar with the words
*Clear voice-not too fast or soft--make eye contact with audience
*Used expression in your voice
