European Landmark Project
Due February 13, 2012
Imagine that you have visited this famous landmark so that you can create a
postcard from it. As you research your assigned landmark you should collect
images and the following information:
•	What is it?
•	When was it built?
•	Who built it?
•	What problem did it solve or what purpose did it serve?
•	What might be the most interesting or impressive details?
On the paper you were given for creating your postcard one side should be
visual (an image, sketch or collage). On the other side you should write a
note as if you have just visited the landmark and you are telling someone
about it. It should include the details from your research.

Be prepared to share you postcard with the class.

WWI Propaganda Posters

During WWI posters were used to pump up the war effort and elicit support.
The posters used short statements and vivid images to drive home their
patriotic mesages.

Please create your own WWI poster, based on the following criteria:

As least the size of a piece of computer paper
May use some printed images or drawn/traced images, but must not simply be
the reproduction of an existing poster.

Some ideas for the subject of your poster are: enlistment, buy war bonds,
rationing, quiet/anti-spying, red cross, liberty/freedom, anti-german,
recycle/conserve.
