This is my basic rubric for grading essays and written assignment. A+ 100% 20/20 A very well written essay which includes all content requirements with no grammatical or spelling errors. A 95% 19/20 A well written essay with minor grammatical/spelling/or composition errors. B+ 90% 18/20 An essay which is missing a minor content requirement, states an incorrect fact and/or grammatical/spelling errors. B 85% 17/20 Missing a major content item or error and grammatical/spelling errors. C+ 80% 16/20 Essay fails to answer question completely with either missing information or incorrect information. Grammatical and/or spelling errors. C 75% 15/20 Essay incomplete but with some merit. D+ 70% 14/20 Failed to answer question adequately but effort apparent. D 65% 13/20 Failed to answered question. Major grammatical errors. F 60% 12/20 No effort apparent.
