When can I have a conference?
If you would like to schedule a conference, please e-mail me or write me a note. I will be happy to
schedule a conference with you. If you would like to tell me that your child is absent
or ask for makeup work, please email me. I will have work prepared for your child during my planning time.
What is Accelerated Math?
Accelerated Math is very similar to the Accelerated Reading(AR)
program. Assignments are computer-generated and are tailored to
your child's skill level. Each student must complete five
assignments each quarter. Assignments may be practices, exercises, or tests.
Your child has a binder with a log and his or her current
assignment in it. Ask to see the binder with the log to
see his or her progress.
What is the homework policy?
Homework is given Monday through Thursday. I encourage all
students to study material for upcoming tests throughout the week
and weekends. Do not wait until the last minute to study. In
addition, please remember that the best way to study for math is
to work problems. The more you practice, the better you will
get. Be sure to rework all problems, especially ones with
which you had the most trouble.
Homework is very valuable to your education. It reinforces
the concepts you have learned in class. Five points will be
taken from the homework grade for each assignment missed.
Homework must be made up.
When can I see my child's tests or quizzes?
All grades are posted on Teacherease. All graded work, including tests and quizzes,is sent home with your child.
