What does my child need to bring to Art Class?
Each student should have their own 'art box' that they will keep on the appropriate class shelf in the Art Room. This can be a simple plastic shoe box or a sturdy cardboard one. They should contain the items listed under 'Supply List'. These items will differ depending on whether they are a new or returning student. The basic supplies will be kept in each student's box for their personal use. Some items are for 'classroom use' and will be shared with all students. If anyone has difficulty obtaining these supplies, please contact the teacher and provisions will be made.Back to Top

How is my child graded for Art Class?
The most important 'supply' the student needs to bring to Art Class is a Good Attitude. Students are NOT graded on their artistic TALENT or ABILITY, but, rather their EFFORT and WILLINGNESS to TRY their PERSONAL BEST. The upper grades will be receiving lessons in Art Techniques, Styles, Art History, and Famous Artists. They will be tested periodically throughout the year on the information they receive. The best thing that they can do is pay attention in class and take notes. All information is given in an interesting and 'hands on' style. Questions and class participation is encouraged. If any student has difficulty with a particular subject, extra credit projects are available.Back to Top
