M 5/21 English: 7.2 p320 #9-30. Think about what you want to build on your "Preposition Park." If you have bits and pieces of construciont stuff you want to bring in (foil, string) be my guest. Geog: Study maps, ALL capitals, ALL peninsulas, ALL mountains, ALL seas on your list! Don't forget the capital of Cyprus. Locate Sicily, Malta and the Balearic Islands (you added the last 2 by vote). Reading: Reading comprehension sheet on "Where the Red Fern Grows." Study vocab-socio. T 5/22 English: Write 15 sentences using 15 different prepositions. Underline the prepositional phrase. Remember you have to memorize at least 20 prepositions for a test. 5 points each. Extra credit will be given for each prepostion over the required 20. But if you only know 10, you get a 50 (failing). Try to put them to a song. (Look up one on YouTube?) See if Hunter can still sing the prepostions to "Yankee Doodle." The Preposition Parks are looking great! Geog: Ch 11 map test tomorrow! Chapter content test on Thursday. Reading: Reading comprehension sheet on "Island of the Blue Dolphins." Study that vocab. W 5/23 English: 1. Txt 7.3 #11-36. If you have trouble recalling adverbs, look back at the adverb unit in the text, or surf on YouTube for your favorite, the Adverb Song! (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5MnqFp6Kq2g ) Does the phrase answer the question where, when, how or to what extent? 2. Memorize at least 20 prepositions! Reading: Study for poetry test. Reading Detective sheet. R 5/24 English: Memorize prepositions. Sing them! Dance them! But whatever you do, you must be able to write at least 20 of them on a piece of blank paper. (See link above for Yankee Doodle version.) Geog: no homework--you had a test today. Reading: Study for poetry test tomorrow. You will be allowed to use the poetry guide. Practice figuring out meter--stressed and unstressed syllables--and then deciding what meter it is (iambic, dactylic, etc.). F 5/25 English: 7.4 p328 11-32 AND the "Writing Wrap-Up." Preposition test will be next week--have you memorized at least 20 of them? |
