I began acclimating to the idea of a teaching career while I worked as a
teacher's aide during my undergraduate career in college. I worked at
Innovation Schools of Excellence in Tallahassee, FL and there I decided
that I had a passion to share the knowledge I had gained over the years. I
interned as the Editor's Assistant for the FSView (Florida State
University's own school newspaper) and realized my strengths in writing for
the love of it.
I began working as a full-time teacher after graduating from Florida State
University in 2005. I majored in English at Florida State University and I
minored in African-American Studies. I am currently studying at Florida
Memorial University, pursuing a Master's degree in Reading. I've
always had a zeal for writing and public speaking, and a desire to help
build "my own kind".
As a fourth-year teacher at Miami Carol City Sr. High, I treasure every
moment that students are willing to give me.
Currently, I am working on a book to someday be published and my ultimate
goal is to receive my Ph.D in English and work as a professor at a major
institution.
My mission for my classes is for every student to take away something
beneficial with them either valuable to life, or their own knowledge.
