COMMUNICATION – HOME AND SCHOOL:
Grades will be posted on Teacherease. If you have a password from last year, it should still work. Please send me a note if it does not. If you did not have a password last year, please send me your e-mail address, and you will receive a password.
Newsletters and flyers are sent home periodically throughout the year. Fifth week Progress Reports during First Quarter are given to all students. Fifth and Seventh Week Deficiency Reports are given as needed to students with low or failing academic achievement or unacceptable behavior. Report Cards: Grades K-8: distributed quarterly.
The curriculum for all grades at Most Holy Redeemer Inter-Parochial School is mandated by the Diocese of St. Petersburg Office of Catholic Schools and Centers and school-based administrative decisions. The textbooks and materials are selected based on recommendations from the Office of Catholic Schools and teacher selection committees.
In order to keep up-to-date in the area of curriculum, MHR teachers serve on various diocesan committees and attend workshops and in-service programs through out the year. Staff Development is on-going at the local level.
Each teacher has developed a set of Classroom Rules and Behavioral Expectations for their students. All MHR students are expected to abide by the classroom rules and the school’s Code of Conduct and Dress/Hair/Jewelry Code at all times. As students in a Catholic school, MHR students are expected to be courteous, respectful, and honest in the Christian tradition. Unacceptable behavior is dealt with in several ways such as warnings, phone calls home, detention, and suspensions. The cooperation of home in changing unacceptable behavior is important and necessary.
MY CLASSROOM EXPECTATIONS ARE:
Be respectful.
Be prepared.
Each student has written these expectations in the front of their language arts spiral along with an elaboration of what each means.
