Our first graders will be taking end of the year tests this week. The schedule is:
Reading - Tuesday & Wednesday
Math - Thursday & Friday

ANIMAL HABITAT PROJECT
As part of a
culminating activity for our animal unit, each student will create an
animal project. On May 7th, your child will select an animal to
research. This project has four components 1) fact collection, 2) a
written report, 3) a shoebox diorama, and 4) an oral presentation.
I respectfully ask that you will guide your child in researching about
their animal and creating a diorama of it's habitat. I have attached a
form to help your child in the collection of data about their chosen
animal. I would suggest they work a little bit each night completing
this form. By
the weekend of May 12th, your child should be ready to work on the
diorama. Lastly, the students should write a report about their animal
in paragraph form. This project is due May 24th. Students will
present their project to the class and should be able to read their
report independently. If you have any questions regarding this assignment, please do not hesitate to ask.
What is a diorama?Please ask your child to check their room and backpack to ensure that all library books have been returned to school. We are doing inventory in the library. Thank you!
LUNCH UPDATE:
Students are no longer allowed to charge lunch. They will receive a cheese sandwich and water. Please make sure they have money in their account. The cafeteria can no longer accept checks. Thank you!
Thank you Christopher's mom, Angella for supplying our class with pink erasers for every child and Luis' mom, Rene for filling up our treasure box with great treasures!! We are so lucky!
