I like to be called "Mrs. B" because everyone has a hard time pronouncing my
name. I moved to Florida in 2005 from Vermont where I taught at Richford
Jr/Sr. High School. That school was in a small rural town with a population
less than the PPHS population! Each graduating class had approximately 30
students! What a change for me, but I have adjusted well and find the
students to be very similar to those in Vermont. The weather is much nicer
here than it was in Vermont. We actually had days off for extreme cold(-25F)
as well as snow days. 10-12" of snow overnight was not unusual! I don't miss
that at all! I am married and have an adult son who lives in Vermont. I
was born and raised in Smithfield Rhode Island. I have a Masters Degree in
Special Education and have been teaching for 16 years. I love helping
students be more successful in school and get great satisfaction from seeing
them graduate. In my spare time, I like to go bowling, work in the flower
garden, and watch the Red Sox and the NE Patriots. I look forward to a
successful year for my students at the Park and hope to still be here when
they graduate! When I'm not in a class, you can find me in my office in A
wing; near A2A. Have a successful school year!
We, the students in the Learning Strategies class will work hard
to apply the skills we learned in this class to get higher FCAT scores,
become more organized, get along with others, and work well in groups. This
hard work will result in higher grades in all of our classes. We will
graduate with a 2.0 or higher GPA and have a successful high school
experience.
