About the Teacher

This is my 31st year teaching in the Miami Dade County Public School
System. After growing up in South Florida, I went to the University of
Florida and graduated with a Bachelor's degree in Elementary Education. I
obtained my Master's degree in Elementary Education from Barry University in
Miami Shores, Florida. I am endorsed to teach ESOL and Reading also. For
six years now I have been teaching an inclusion class. That means I have
both ESE and General Education students in my class.

My husband and I have been married for 32 years and we have three beautiful
children. All three are in college: Our son is a graduate of Florida Gulf
Coast University, where he also played baseball for four years as a pitcher.
He is in his 3rd year of law school now in Miami. Our oldest daughter is a
graduate at Florida State University with a degree in Biology and wants to be
a doctor one day.She has applied to medical school. Our youngest is a
freshman this year at the University of Florida. As most parents do, we stay
busy with our family and their hobbies. I love spending time with my family,
enjoying all that South Florida has to offer. We have a boat and spend many
hours on the ocean and in the ocean discovering shells, coral reefs, lobster
and fish.

My Mission

It is my desire that each and every one of my students have a positive and
memorable experience in my class. I hope to inspire my students to be caring
individuals. Each day is a gift and it is ours to make the best of. My
mission is to embrace each one of my students for their individualities and
use their gifts to help them be the best they can be. Learning about this
wonderful world we live in through nonfiction books and reading materials
will be one focus. Also, I aspire for my students to become authors
themselves! I am dedicated to the success of ALL OF MY STUDENTS!
