Accelerated Reader

Your Accelerated Reader goal for the nine week grading period is based on
the reading level you achieve on the Gates-MacGinitie reading test.

You may take the Accelerated Reader test in our language arts classroom or
in the library. You may use the library during any class, and you may take
the test during class time, but you must ask permission first. If we are
completing an assignment, I will ask you to wait until we are done, but I
will never say "No" to Accelerated Reader.

You will click on th AR STU icon on the computer. I will tell you your
password.

You must meet your goal every nine weeks because your score will be worth
ten-percent of your nine weeks' grade.

We have A.R. books in our classroom, and you can check them out at our
school's media center or any library. Make sure the books are on your
reading level. A paperback will usually state this on the bottom of the back
cover. Remember- if a book is on Accelerated Reader at our school, it does
not matter where you check it out.

Check your class reading contract for your nine-week goal.If you need help,
see Ms. Seaman.

You can see a list of Accelerated Reader books on the webiste link entitled
FAVORITE WEBSITES.
