This site has some great ideas for the classroom!

Space Stations-Class Project

1. Teams of 2-3 children will pick or be assigned one of the 9 planets.

2. Using the information gathered from classroom literature and our classroom planet charts, they will design and create a space staion for their planet.
Materials: small boxes, paper tubes (t-paper & paper towels), and various craft materials such as:clay, buttons, yarn, packing material, foil, tissue paper, construction paper, paint, craft sticks, toothpicks, etc.

Planet Advertisement-Home Connection

1. Each child will pick a planet of their choice.

2. Make a poster or travel brochure that will show and tell why their planet is the best.

Alien Encounter-Writing Experience

There are many different opinins about what an alien might look like. Each child will be writing a description about an alien from a different planet. They will tell:

*what they look like
*where they are from
*the aliens name
*what they eat, things they do, etc.

Of cource there will be an illustration!
