Celebrating Dr. Seuss

We're Celebrating Dr. Seuss!

This year, our class has joined a project, Salute to Seuss,  to celebrated the wonderfully funny, often wacky, world of Dr. Seuss.

We will share book reviews of some of our favorite books, conduct an experiment with the book Bartholomew and the Oobleck, and make a class book adapted from the book My Many Colored Days. Even though the official project ends December 21th, we will extend our fun with Dr. Seuss through his birthday in March.
Visit Seussville, the official Dr. Seuss site.

Our first book review is for Bartholomew and the Oobleck. This book is about a king who thinks he is more important than anything in the world. He gets mad and bored with the weather always being rain or fog or snow or sunshine. He wants something new. His magicians make Oobleck fall from the sky. It is green and sticky. It covers everything. When the king finally says he is sorry for his wish the weather goes back to normal. We think it is important to always say you are sorry when you make a mistake. Also, everyone is important and people shouldn't think they are better than anyone else, even a king.

Below are pictures of us when we made Oobleck! It was a lot of fun and very messy. We're glad this stuff doesn't fall from the sky!!!!
